Michael Jackson was born on August the 29th of 1958, in Gary (Indiana) and died on June the 25th of 1958, in Los Angeles (California). From his earliest age, he had becomming the star of the « Jackson 5 » band, on which he used to be the leading singer among his brothers (whereas he was the yougest boy of the family). At the age of 13, he started a solo career and released two albums in 1971 and 1972. He kept on performing with his brothers for a while, but in 1982, his « Thriller » album knew one of the greatest success of all times. At this period, his solo career was definitaly settled.

In 1983, his growing fame encouraged the Pepsi brand to invite him to participate to its new marketing campaign... but he was badly injured during the shooting of the commercial. Following this event, Michael Jackson started to experiment plastic surgery.

By the late 1980s, he created his own « magic kingdom », « Neverland », which used to be his home and a theme park at the same time.

At this very moment, rumors started to emerge around Michael Jackson's character and lifestyle. It used to be said, inter alia, that he lightened the color of his skin to appear more white and that he was sleeping in a oxygen chamber to increase his lifespan.

But the darkest time of his entire life really began in the early 1990s : Indeed, in 1993, allegations of child molestation against him emerged. These allegations were first launched by a 13 year-old boy. Even though no evidence was found by the police in Neverland, Michael Jackson's reputation suffered a lot. Other assertations were thrown in the subsequent years, and led to a trial in 2005. He had finally been vindicated.

Shook up by this painful experience, Michael had less and less public appearance, in the media (and in general) during the years following the trial, until 2006, when he announced that he was going to perform for a new world tour named « This Is It », which was intended to be the very last tour of his career.

Unfortunately, Michael never had the opportunity to perform this concerts' set, because he died on June the 25th of 2009, just a few days before the date on which the tour was supposed to start.
